Birdwell School will receive government funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up program for the 2020 to 2021 academic year. The purpose of this funding is to support pupils to catch up lost learning caused by school closures during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Our school leaders are responsible for deciding how this Catch-Up Premium funding is spent. Plans are based on our assessment of which pupils most need to access additional support and will benefit most. Our plans are to provide a blended range of activities to target spending in literacy and numeracy, including small group or 1:1 tuition delivered by familiar teaching staff, online catch-up programmes and access to the National Tutoring Programme.
Further information is available from the Department of Education website about Catch-Up Premium funding.
