Birdwell School is really pleased that the government has allowed schools to stay open during the latest lockdown. We will continue to work within government guidelines and thank you for your continued support in helping us to do this, making Birdwell as safe as we can.

Please can we remind all parents, carers and visitors to:

  • Wear a face mask or covering when on our school site
  • Use email contact wherever possible to communicate with the office or staff team
  • Follow the staggered timings for bringing your child/ren to school and collecting them
  • Following social distancing rules when on the school site by ensuring that you remain at a distance from other parents and carers. We appreciate that this is challenging at times
  • Keep children at home and isolate if any member of the household shows one of the main coronavirus symptoms, until a negative test result is received
  • Keep school informed about the details of any coronavirus related absence in the usual way, including if anyone in your household is showing symptoms, awaiting a test, test results etc

As you can appreciate, the situation is changing regularly. Please be reassured that we have extensive risk assessment documentation, and you can contact the office to request this at any time.

For further information about how schools are advised to respond to the pandemic situation, please see the general DfE guidance for schools website, the DfE guidance for early years settings website, and the DfE guidance for after school clubs website.
