Sports Premium Spend

Birdwell School receives extra funding to help improve the provision of PE and Sport for its pupils.  The PE and Sport Premium funding should be used to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity that the pupils have access to and are encouraged to participate in.

 

Our school leaders are responsible for deciding how the PE and Sport Premium funding is spent.  Our plans are directed at securing improvements against the following 5 key indicators:

  • Engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
  • Profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement
  • Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  • Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  • Increased participation in competitive sport
