Lunch Menu

Aspens will be providing our school meals from September 2024.

Our menus are emailed out to families at the start of each term, and any updates or changes will be communicated separately.

Lunch Menu - April to July 2025

We asked the children to choose which menu they would like for terms 5 & 6 and the consensus was to try world cuisine. We have a three-week rolling menu. Please see the link below.

Thursday 15 May 2025 - Out of This World menu

This month's seasonal vegetable is peppers. The kitchen will display posters around the servery and will have some peppers for children to touch, see and smell.

Free School Meals

There are two schemes for free school meals:

  • universal infant free school meals for all children in reception year, year 1 and year 2 – you don’t need to apply as they’re automatically given at the school
  • free school meals for people on qualifying benefits – you’ll need to apply for these

If you claim qualifying benefits and your child is entitled to universal infant school meals, you should still apply for free school meals so:

  • you’re eligible for other financial assistance for items such as school trips
  • the school can receive funding for the free school meals

For more information and to apply for free school meals, please go to www.n-somerset.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals. This system provides an instant result regarding eligibility.  If you have any issues or need further help, please speak to a member of the office team.

Special Diets

Aspens firmly believes in providing high quality food for children to enjoy, that is safe to eat. Special diets are an integral part of our catering provision, whether as a result of an ethical or religious belief or a food intolerance or allergy.

If you would like your child to receive a special diet, please complete the form below and return it to jon.scott@aspens-services.com, copying in the school office.

Olio

Olio is a local sharing app for passing on things, including food, that you don't need to people who live nearby. Share what you don't need and find what you do.

For families that are struggling to afford the cost of the weekly shop, Olio is a great place to find free or discounted food. Please see the poster below for more information or download the app from your app store.
