Saplings Pre-School
 

Saplings is Birdwell School's high-quality pre-school provision, staffed by highly qualified, experienced, early years practitioners. 

Our offer:

Our pre-school offers a learning-rich, safe and happy environment for children from age 3 years. We promote curiosity, relationship building, questioning skills and the freedom to try new things and have a go. 

Our pre-school is in a purpose-built block within the school site, with their own dedicated outdoor spaces as well as use of the wider, extensive school grounds. These offer a stimulating, natural environment in which to learn and build curiosity about the world around them.

Places in our pre-school are offered during term time only on the following basis:
 

15 hours per week:

• Monday and Tuesday 9am to 3pm and Wednesday 9am to 12pm
  Or
• Wednesday 12pm to 3pm and Thursday and Friday 9am to 3pm 
   

30 hours per week: Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm

Wraparound breakfast and after-school care are also available for pre-school children within Birdwell School. Please see the Wraparound Care page of our website here for more details and pricing information. 

Government funding:

Government funding for childcare is available for all 3 to 4-year-olds in England and our preschool is an approved childcare provider for this purpose. You can find out more details regarding the funding on the Government website.

Visiting our pre-school:

Throughout the year we welcome families to visit our pre-school and meet the team. To arrange a visit, or find out about our next open day, please contact the school office:

How to apply:

We accept children once they have turned three years old, however, government funding is only available from the term following their third birthday. You can, however, register your child from birth and we will be in touch when they are approaching their third birthday.

To apply, please complete and return the application form below. Please return the completed form by email to Office@BirdwellSchool.co.uk or you can drop it into the school office.
