Welcome to Term 5 in Saplings Class!

In Saplings class the team are ...

Miss Rowbottom - Class Teacher,

Ms Wingrave - Class LSA and Miss Ladds - EYFS Apprentice

We are looking forward to a fantastic virtual term together with our lovely Saplings children and their families. We miss you all and our time at school very much but are looking forward to seeing all of your updates on tapestry

Our topic this term is ...

The Very Hungry Saplings

We will be exploring our bodies as well as plants and bugs to investigate what helps us to grow big and strong and if we need the same things as plants, bugs and animals! We chose this topic based on the Saplings inquisitiveness around the outdoors; plants in particular, and their love of being active and manoeuvring around different spaces and apparatus! They love to dig, water plants and look at living things closely in our outdoor area! The Saplings also LOVE food and enjoy making and preparing food that they can use all of their senses to explore. We hope this topic will inspire them in their term of home learning!

We have prepared  a home learning pack with lots of home learning ideas surrounding all 7 areas of the early years foundation stage curriculum. It has suggestions of activities that you could do at home, as well as a reading pack with stories and poems that you can read to and listen to with your child. There will also be a phase 1 phonics learning grid with activities for your child covering the 7 aspects of phase one phonics that we cover in Saplings class.

Please find these in your emails and on the Home Learning 2020 page of the website from Friday 17th April.

Please this term's Knowledge Organiser link at the bottom of the page.
