Hello everyone

Welcome to Saplings!

In Saplings we are a super team of enthusiastic pre-school learners. Every day brings us something new: we are so curious about the world we live in.

In our classroom we have different areas to help us with our development.

We sing songs in rhyme time to help us with our pre-reading skills, we listen to stories together, we are creative in so many different ways and absolutely LOVE spotting birds in our Saplings Lookout Den. We are inquisitive about different shapes, numbers and patterns - and enjoy thinking about what is on our curiosity shelf to help us with this. Our block play develops our early maths skills. At Saplings we develop our language skills right across the day, but especially enjoy chatting during snack time, using our words to help us to solve puzzles and problems and when we are moving through the transitions of the day.

Something that is really special about Saplings is our outside learning environment, including garden area, water play, sand play, woodland, bike area, climbing frame, grubby chef area, and how we are able to access this throughout the day. In our garden area, we make use of 'loose parts' which enables creativity, teamwork, resilience and communication. Loose parts - for example crates, tubes, fabric, wooden pieces - sees children using resources and their ideas to create one day a pirate ship, the next an aeroplane or a train!

We will also be having lots of fun learning outside (as long as it isn't too rainy) so don't forget your wellies.
