Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in our community. We also expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment by helping us to establish a safe environment, practicing safer recruitment when checking staff and volunteers to work with children, and developing and implementing procedures for safeguarding.

Please speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Paul Sainsbury, or the Deputy Safeguarding Leads Emily Downing, Lucy Durham or Annette Weir if you are concerned about the safety of a child. Alternatively you can contact Clare Sutherland, the Trustee in charge of Safeguarding.

The Designated Leads will ask you to record your concerns and they will take the necessary action, which may include contacting Social Care through the Single Point of Access (SPA). You can find Safeguarding information leaflets at the office if you would like more information.

If these Designated Leads are not available or it is out of school hours you must ring:

Social Care Intake Team on 01275 888808

Or you can contact the Police on 999 in an emergency.

Photos of our safeguarding team are shown below. Please feel free to approach us if you ever have any concerns. There are also some links to useful websites relating to safeguarding at the bottom of this page.

The Local Area Designated Officer (LADO) is Mr James McMillan, who is contactable via email at lado@n-somerset.gov.uk  or on 07795092692.  He works across the whole of the North Somerset Local Authority.

Do not send any personal or identifying information, other than your own, if you are unsure whether your e-mail address is encrypted.
